I'm so impressed with everyone's comments and suggestions.
I propose to everyone,
WHAT DO WE DO NOW?
I am willing to do anything it takes to instigate change and advocate for affordable housing in Victoria. Something has to be done.
Write letters? To who.
Bang on doors? Where.
Organize a protest? Protesting what.
I won't give up, and I hope any of you who are passionate about this won't either.
Please post any info or suggestions you may have.

Good question, I doubt if the Home owners care or would listen.
Organize a protest? Protesting what.
Often Protests are demonized by the Media and Police.
Set up an online petition as one Idea make a facebook group as another use the social network groups to our advantage and make it known nation wide if not the world that Victoria BC is very callas and near impossible to get rent within a reasonable price range that the average person can afford.
Make people understand that "Free Market" has a market for everyone not just the wealthy.
Also make people understand that "Affordable Housing" is not the same as "Socialized Housing."
Try to get answers in detail from the Apartment Owners association what their position is and why new rental apartment blocks have not been built in decades. ask them what their taxes are and what would give them incentives to build more Apartment Complexes, ask them if they could still make a reasonable profit in offering rentals to a lower priced market would they build such units.
Make a new online survey asking questions about property management companies that would be then forwarded to the Victoria Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau. Get people in the entire CRD involved because this isn't just a City of Victoria Issue.
Gulf Islands to Port Renfrew need to be involved.
List property Management Companies By7 name in the survey.
Ie which Property Managment Company manages the building you currently reside in?
A: Devon
B: Brown Brothers
C: David Burr
D: Other, please list.
Followed by how satisfied are you and Do you feel you are treated fairly, do you find them rude to you when at their office.
Also have a question like: If you complained to your property Management company about certain issues do you feel that they would intimidate you and try to evict you?
Maybe have an anonymous forum where people can type their complaints about the specific management Company they pay rent to.
Many Ideas come to mind and thought of doing it myself but you already have a blog set up and I don't want to steal your thunder.
